In celebration of epilepsy awareness month, we held our very first Purple Lunch for Epilepsy on March 23, 2011 at the Palais Royale in Toronto.
In spite of the unexpected snow storm, a great number of friends and people from the community braved the inclement weather to come out and support us.
In attendance we had the pleasure to welcome Dr. Taufik Valiante of Western Hospital and some of his colleagues who work in the epilepsy field at the Hospital. Dr. Taufik spoke briefly to those in attendance.
During the delicious lunch we were entertained with the vocals and piano of John Kornel. Following the meal there was a musical performance by mezzo-soprano Margaret Maye.
We hope to make this an annual March event at the Palais Royale.
